FLV to Video Converter

It is a powerful flv converter to convert FLV files to regular video files. It can perfectly convert all kinds of FLV files without any extra codecs. Now you can convert a FLV video to a MP4 file and transfer it to your iPod.

You can launch "Convert FLV to Video" in GetFLV. Within 7 steps, you can convert FLV to Video for you.

Step 1: Launch Convert FLV to Video

Step 2: Add FLV Files

Click on the "Add File(s)" button. You are given a standard file open dialog. Add the file you want to convert. You may choose multiple files in this dialog.

Step 3: Specify Output Directory

  • You can choose to place the converted files within the original folder or another folder of your choice.
  • All converted video files will be save to the original folder if you check the "Save to original folder" check box.

  • You can check "Specify Folder" check box and select a directory as output location in your computer. All converted video files will be save to this directory.

Step 4: Select Output Type

There are some preset profiles for you to choose. These profiles are very useful since they are the most commonly used ones. Click the drop-down menu and select a profile you think that suits your requirements.

 

Step 5: Edit Video

After clicking the "Edit" button on the interface, you will find four tabs: Split Video, Crop Video, Image Watermark and Text Watermark, which allow you to split and crop video, add image watermark or text watermark to video.

Split video

1. Select a file in the file list and click the "Edit" button, then go to the Split Video tab.

2. Enable "Split Source Video" checkbox.

3. To set the start time of the video, click the "Set StartTime" button when the video plays to the frame you want to start from. You can also drag the scroll bar under the preview panel to set the time. Click the "Previous Frame" button to set the previous frame as the start time, or click the "Next Frame" button to set the next frame as the start time.

3. To set the end time of the video, click the "Set EndTime" button when the video plays to the frame you want to end with. You can also drag the scroll bar under preview panel to set the time. Click the "Previous Frame" button to set the previous frame as the start time, or click the "Next Frame" button to set the next frame as the start time.

4. To view the selected time length of the video, refer to value for the "Capture".

Crop Video

1. Select a file in the file list and click the "Edit" button, then go to the Clip tab and find the "Crop Video" section.

2. Enable "Crop source video" checkbox. Once the option is enabled, you may see black clippers in the preview window that outline the resulting movie frame. You may change movie proportions, frame size and remove unwanted area by moving around cropping area with the same ease as you do it with any window object in Windows OS.

3.Drag and resize the dashed frame on the preview panel to crop the video.

3. Alternatively, change the values in the four up-down controls in the "Crop Video" panel.

The value for the "Left" is the number of pixels counted from the left of the original video, while the value for the "Right" is the number of pixels counted from the left of the original video. The value for the "Top" is the number of pixels counted from the top of the original video, while the value for the "Bottom" is the number of pixels counted from the top of the original video.

4. While cropping your video, you can refer to the "Cropped size", which displays the size of the cropped video so that you can crop the appropriate video for the conversion.

Image Watermark

You can add image watermark to show the logo on the video.

1. Select a file in the file list, click the "Edit" button, and click the "Image Watermark" tab.

2. Enable "Add image as watermark" checkbox.

2. Click button and navigate to required image file in "Open file" dialog. Once the image file is selected, you may see the thubnail of the image in the preview window.

4. Drag or resize the thubnail of watermark image to customize the logo on the video.

5. Alternatively, to change the position or resize the logo, change the values in the four up-down controls in the "Image Watermark" tab.

Text Watermark

You can add the text watermark to the video.

1. Select a file in the file list, click the "Edit" button, and click the "Text Watermark" tab.

2. Enable "Add text as watermark" checkbox.

3. Enter the text in the box for "Caption" to show on the video. Then you may see the thubnail of the text watermark in the preview window.

4. Drag or resize the thubnail of text watermark to customize the text logo on the video.

5. Alternatively, to change the position or resize the logo, change the values in the four up-down controls in the "Text Watermark" tab.

6. To set the font effect by clicking the button. You can set the font style, font size, font effect, etc. for the text you want to show.

Step 6: Detailed Setting

File type: Select the video format in which you want to export your FLV file(s).

Sub-type: Select the sub video type in which you want to export your FLV file(s), if other options are available.

Video Setting:

Video codec: Select a video codec for the output file, if other options are available.

Frame size: Select a preset frame size or custom frame size for the output video. If you select "Custom", you can set the frame size by changing the width and the height of the frame size. If you check the "Maintain aspect" option, the aspect ratio of the video will be kept as original and if you change the width (height), the height (width) will be automatically changed accordingly.

Frame Rate: Select a lower frame rate for your video if you want to smaller the file size. You can also select "Custom" when it is available for the video. A valid number could only be entered beside the box. When the entered value is bigger than the max value, the max value will be shown after you click other option. When the entered value is smaller than the minimum value, the minimum value will be shown after you click other option.

Bit Rate: You can select a proper bit rate for your video when other options are available. When the "Custom" option is enabled, if the entered value is bigger than the max value, the max value will be shown after you click othere option. When the entered value is smaller than the minimum value, the minimum value will be shown after you click other option. When the entered value is smaller than the minimum value, the minimum value will be shown after you click other option.

Audio Setting:

Audio codec: Select an audio codec for the output file.

Bit Rate: Select a proper bit rate for your audio data, if other options are available.

Sample Rate: Select a proper sample rate for your audio data, if other options are available.

Channels: Select an audio channel for your audio data. Two types are available generally, mono and standard stereo. In profile for 3GP with amr audio codec, only "mono" is available. When you select MPEG as export type and select a DVD option in sub-type, "ac3 channel" is the only option.

Step 7: Convert Video

Click on the "Convert" button on the tool bar to start converting.

Step 2: Select "Convert FLV to video" item from context menu to convert selected FLV files.
